Sushi by Sea brings to life the background and culture of our owners. We play up their Korean, Brazilian, South African and Japanese cultural experiences as we prepare dishes that take you on a culinary and magical hospitality journey.
Our owners have spent years in the industry and believe their hands on experience has equipped them to deliver this unique experience that focuses on quality dishes and close interaction with guests, making every moment as memorable as possible.
Sushi by Sea started during the Covid Pandemic as pop ups, with a vision of having a dedicated home. In doing so, we unpacked the nostalgic memory of our own first Omakase experience. We quickly realized it was far deeper than the food. Our lookback was filled with vivid memories of the people we were with, the conversations held, good energy around the counter and of course amazing food – all of it together made it an unforgettable experience!

The Private Room Omakase Experience is a 12-seater chefs counter setting that brings a unique speakeasy feel and experience to New Jersey. The undisclosed location, nestled in Ridgefield just near the Gold Coast is a referral and invite only sushi restaurant

Mission & Purpose
Grass roots grown, our mission is to grow and build a community together with our guests and suppliers – one connected network and ecosystem. We believe in supporting one another and connecting beyond the Sushi counter. We encourage networking within our community and ensure all who sit at our counter, leave as friends!
- Guests will experience our exclusiveness and attention to detail. We try to accommodate all requests within reason and strive to make you feel as comfortable as possible – as if you were at home or we have known each other for years!
An Exclusive Experience
Our chefs take you on an adventure from sea, land, and secret recipes, experimenting with ingredients from around the world, some of which we collect on our travels. Dishes are explained as to why they have been put together in such a way, along with how best to enjoy – a layering process of all your senses, from visual, to tasting, and storytelling
We aspire to offer only the best, our fish is generous, and we take our time in perfecting the most important asset, our rice, which is key to the magic! The small and intimate setting allow guests to enjoy a ~2hr seating, engaging personally with our chefs and creating your own memories, just like our very first Omakase experience!
